Robert reminded me that I hadn't gotten this report out yet; I was a bit
pre-occupied with another project until last weekend.

In any case, we had a great launch in June this year with a huge
turn-out and great weather. This month, I managed to get rack and pad
numbers on every card, so I can say that we flew 24 racks totally 104
launches, with 5 (or 6) rods available -- we kept things full all
afternoon!

The usual stats:

    Launches: 104
    Successful flights: 98
    Flyers: 51
    Rockets: 69
Most Flights: 6 Sutton and Dale C
    Biggest Motor: F-24 Joe B

Midway through the event we held a drawing for a huge pile of rocket
kits. Thanks to our kind donors, I'm expecting to see some new airframes
at the LCO table in the coming months.

With light winds all afternoon, I only recorded two lost rockets this
month. Remember -- use a streamer, or fly a saucer if you want to be
sure to get things back!

Thanks to Stefan J for bringing out flags to raise our flight line off
the ground; another improvement in our model GSE. And, thanks to a huge
crowd who stayed through to the end and helped clean up and carry things
out. We got to use our new PA system again, and it worked great.

Here's the rest of our launch schedule for this year:

 August 8, Sunday 2pm to 5pm
 October 10, Sunday 2pm to 5pm
 November 14, Sunday 2pm to 5pm

*** VOLUNTEERS REQUESTED ***

For August, I've got a business trip scheduled through the 8th of August
to New York, so I won't be able to run the launch. I'm looking for
volunteers to help get equipment down to the launch site, set things up
and act as RSO for the event. RSO duties require a current NAR L2
certification. Please contact me off-list if you can help.

Hope everyone had as much fun as I did last month, and I hope you all
have fun next month without me! For September, remember that OROC hosts
a two day launch out in Sheridan Oregon (not far from Portland)
September 11th and 12th, we'll be launching everything from 1/4A up
through high power, so come out to watch and fly.

See you in September in Sheridan, and back in Wilsonville in October!
